In Christmas it is open in many workshops and at the craftsmen in the city quarter. Several are open every day, and some may be visit during the Christmas market weekends.

Christmas at Skansen is about traditions, Christmas atmosphere, what you enjoyed, how to celebrate, what you got in a gift – and in many of the open workshops manufactures Christmas presents that were equally appreciated a hundred years ago as today. These environments are open during the week Monday – Friday from 11:00 to 16:00: Krukmakeriet,. Stockholms glasbruk, Järnhandeln, Bageriet (closed Monday), Kryddboden, Café Petissan, Krogen Stora Gungan, Snickerifabriken, Mekaniska verkstaden, Boktryckarbostaden and Järnhandlarbostaden.

Now there are two Christmas market weekends, 9-10 December and 16-17 December. Then these environments are open from 10:00 to 16:00: Apoteket, Koppar-, bleck- och plåtslageriet, Tapetserarverkstaden, Guld- och silververkstaden with the silver press, Skomakeriet, Boktryckeriet, Bokbinderiet, Sadelmakeriet, Gravörverkstaden and Konsumbutiken.

Outside the countryside you will find Bagarstugan which is open every day for Christmas, weekdays from 11:00 to 15:00 and weekends from 11:00 to 16:00. Here, thin unleavened bread is baked according to all the rules of the art. Another Christmas speciality that is not to be missed is the smoking hot coal buns served on Christmas market days.
