Legendary Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett releases new solo music and goes out on tour! On April 10, he and his band will come to Nalen Club for a Sweden-exclusive concert no one should miss. And to the summer he is with Foo Fighters on the very first edition of Lollapalooza Stockholm – where the band finishes Saturday, day 2 of 3.

Shiflett grew up along the California coast of Santa Barbara, starting his career in bands like No Use for a Name and Me First & the Gimme Gimmes. In 1999 he left them both to start playing guitar in Foo Fighters and when their “One by One” was released in 2002, it was with Shiflett’s guitar. Since then he is a permanent member, and one of the most prolonged, in the rock group.

But Shiflett wanted to express his own songwriting and began exploring genres and music styles in 2003 with the punk band Jackson United, with which he released two albums. He then moved towards the country music and under the name Shiflett & the Dead Peasants he also released two records. Now the tour has come to release discs completely under their own name. Chris Shiflett remains in both rock’n’roll and country genre but fully explores them: he plays with the classic Bakersfield sound, inspired by names like Keith Richards, and plugging in his classic Telecaster in the 80’s amplifier , to create his own sound with as much twang as weight.

Shiflet’s upcoming album “Hard Lessons” is a raw, guitar-driven album, full of breadth with rock n roll, classical countrytwang, autobiographical lyrics and hard work. In connection with the release of new music, he goes on a tour that ends at the Nalen on April 10. With him on the tour he has Matt Star (Christopher Cross, Lisa Loeb), Brian Whelan (Dwight Yoakum) and Mark ‘Muddy’ Dutton (The Chris Robinson Brotherhood).
