Charlotta Eidenskog – Vernissage Sat. Oct 7th. 2017

By on October 2, 2017

Storm clouds
Charlotta Eidenskog sees the mud as a building material that reflects her thoughts about the society we are in. In the past year, her work has been about freedom, borders, exposure and belonging. What we take as a matter of course can for another person be an unattainable dream. What are we responsible for towards our fellow human beings and ourselves? The thematic in Charlotta Eidenskog’s work is usually not prominent or obvious, but it is a driving force that nourishes her work and is sometimes reflected in the titles of the work.

Charlotta Eidenskog works with ceramic sculpture where a survey in shape, color and composition relative to the room is in focus. In her work has a spatiality become an increasingly important part and many times the point of departure for the sculptures. She uses different materials and techniques to create a mood in the room. In the exhibition Orosmoln meets characteristic copper glazes the charcoal sketch nigrescence.

Charlotta Eidenskog graduated from the HDK, School of Design and Crafts 2004, and a master in applied art in 2008. She works in Gothenburg and works in parallel with her artistic activities as curator and project leader in the artistic field with a focus on arts and crafts. Between 2012 and 2015 she operated the Two Little Birds gallery in Gothenburg and is represented at the Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg and the county council in Sörmland.

In connection with her exhibition, Chalrotta Eidenskog will hold an open lecture.
