Camila Cabello beats record and dominates top lists with the debut album

By on January 29, 2018

Camila Cabello’s self-titled debut album released on January 12 quickly became #1 on iTunes in over 100 countries, thus breaking record as the debut album with the most iTunes first places. The album went straight as number one on Billboard Top 200 in the United States, and on the album list in countries like Sweden, Canada, Mexico, Norway and the Netherlands.

After seven weeks in the second place, the pop star’s hit party “Havana” is ranked as number one on the single list Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first song as Billboard number one. “Havana”, certified three times platinum in the United States and Sweden, has also made Camila Cabello the female artist who has been playing the radio list for most weeks in a row in the United States over the last five years. Even in Britain, “Havana” has peaked the five-week radio list and is thus the most successful single by a female artist on the radio since Adeles “Someone Like You”, 2011.

During the past release week, Camila Cabello has made a series of major TV shows with the new single “Never Be The Same”. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Camila, along with The Roots, made a charming makeover of “Havana” as seen here>>. Camila was also performing and interviewed by Ellen, Good Morning America, and hosted MTV’s TRL.

In addition to dominating top lists around the world, Camila Cabello’s new album has been celebrated by critics:

Stereo – “crisp and focused, engineered for world domination at a time when the sound of pop has become decidedly thin and ephemeral”.

NME – “edgier moments” 4/5 stars.

The Times London – “An unlikely cross between Mariah Carey and Joni Mitchell, and it’s rather lovely.”

2018 has just begun and already Camila Cabello looks like this year’s queen of pop!
