The tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton performs on Blue Monday with pianist Jan Lundgren, bassist Hans Backenroth and Kristian Leth on drums.

Scott Hamilton started playing at the age of 16 and developed rapidly musically. He moved to New York in 1976 and started playing with Benny Goodman. He has also played with Warren Vaché, Ruby Braff and Rosemary Clooney to name a few. Scott Hamilton is in demand all over the world for his informal play and his amazing flow in the play. He has also had a great penchant for Sweden since the 1970s debut, a love that was well received by the audience.

Jan Lundgren was discovered by the jazz legend Arne Domnérus while still at the Music School. He never thought he could support himself as a jazz musician, but in any magic way it worked at all times and now he fills a concert hall all over the world and is grateful to do what he is best at. He is today considered one of our most outstanding jazz pianists.

Hans Backenroth has played with all the big ones. The list is long: Putte Wickman, Arne Domnérus, Monica Zetterlund, Bernt Rosengren, Ulf Wakenius, Bosse Broberg and Svante Thuresson, as well as a wide range of international artists such as Clark Terry, Harry Allen, Toots Thielemans and Ed Thigpen. and he continually tours around Europe, North America and Japan. Hans Backenroth participates in about 130 CDs. In 2009 he released his first solo bass, Bassic Instinct, and formed his own quartet consisting of Bernt Rosengren, Jacob Fischer and Roger Johansen.

Kristian Leth from Aarhus is one of Denmark’s premier jazz drummer who played with Jesper Thilo, Benny Golson, Karin Krog, Harry Allen and others. Kristian has been touring in Europe and the United States and is presenting about 40 recordings. He also works as an educator at the Aarhus Jazz Institute.
