At Six launches two own wines

By on September 23, 2017

At Six has produced two own wines created by Head Sommelier Robert Terry. Blanche is a rosé challenging one’s perceptions of what rosé should be, and Hierta is a red wine with the base in Cabernet Sauvignon; A powerful and round wine with a lot of body. The wines Blanche and Hierta are produced and poured by Högberga Vinfabrik at Lidingö.

Blanche and Hierta are the two new wines made by Robert Terry, Head Sommelier at At Six together with Högberga Vinfabrik. To the two wines, the grapes were harvested in western Tuscany, at a location about five kilometers from the sea overlooking the island of Elba. Letting grapes grow so close to the sea causes the foliage of the plants to be blown by sea currents, which creates healthier grapes and grapevines. In the surroundings, a lot of rosemary, salvia and basil are grown, which in turn gives the wines elements of balsamic tones.

“I’m incredibly proud of these two unique wines. The idea behind the wines is that we wanted to create a wine that is fruity in super Tuscan style. This means that the blend consists of both local grapes from Tuscany and French grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot”, says Robert Terry, Head Sommelier At Six.

The rosé wine has also been made in a richer style to show that it is possible to drink rosé to a little more powerful food. The full-bodied is achieved in the selection of grapes, with only hand-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in 2015, the wine gets its solid body.

The wines that are now being launched also bring inspiration from the wine bar of At Six with the same name – Blanche & Hierta – a place where the historic Brunkebergstorg meets the contemporary. The wines and wine bar have been named by two political inseparable friends from the mid 1800s, August Blanche and Lars Johan Hierta. Blanche was the tribune who fired on the masses and Hierta strived to win people with sense. Our wine offer has been carefully prepared to focus on producers and wines with character and individuality. Our sommelier and cooks have worked together to create a menu where wine and food always go hand in hand.

“The prerequisite for making good wine is to have good grapes, the wine farmers we cooperate with all have a great respect for nature. Working with At Six and Robert Terry in the creation of these two wines is a fantastic project, where we all have the same ambition”, says Johan Zälle Högberga Vinfabrik.

Högberga Vinfabrik has poured wine since 2014, their wines are made from grapes which they carefully selected and hand-harvested in Maremma, Tuscany. Later the grapes are vinified and stored on oak barrels in Sweden.
