A new concept ready for NK Saluhall

By on May 16, 2018

The Nordic Company in Stockholm has initiated a major renewal work aimed at strengthening its position as a world-class department store. NK Saluhall is an important part of this renewal. The entire sales hall will be rebuilt to prepare for some of Sweden’s most talented food contractors in meat, fish, cheese, vegetarian, bread and chocolate. Here there will also be a department of basic food, something demanded by NK’s customers.

NK Saluhall has long been known for high quality food and service, which will continue to be NK Saluhalls signum. The change will now be that NK hand-picked contractors with own niched expert areas in for example meat, fish and vegetarian. Several of the entrepreneurs will offer tastings and light meals in addition to their sales. The overall goal is to give customers an even greater experience.

– We want to create a gastronomic hub in city where NK’s customers can find inspiration for both everyday and festivals, where they get the best ingredients and advice from some of the hottest experts in food. When we add more food and beverage servings, NK Saluhall will be a new, lovely meeting place for Stockholm food enthusiasts, says Andreas Edström, department store manager, Nordiska Kompaniet.

Some of the agreements with the new food contractors are signed and more are under way. These will be presented collectively before the summer. The existing sale hall closed on May 13, and then the rebuilding started. The planned opening date for the new sale hall is not clear but the goal is to open within 6-9 months.
