A melancomic night for Gösta Ekman at Dramaten

On May 15 is Gösta Ekman, who died April 1, celebrated on a memorial evening on the Main Stage.

– We feel a huge missing after Gösta Ekman and also a great delight in what he gave us in such a rich and remarkable way. We gather into an evening that becomes “melanchomic” – his own newly discovered word – and reminds and praises a great artist, says theater director Eirik Stubø.

The memorial evening holds talks, music, readings, personal views and an introduction by theater director Eirik Stubø.

Gösta Ekman appeared in recent years as director on the Royal Dramatic Theatre, actor and as professor at the Theater high school (StDH).

In 2013 he was current at the Royal Dramatic Theatre as Director of Främmande språk. He has previously directed Gäckanden, Den girge and Hantverkaren at the Royal Dramatic Theatre. He was also “Vän i salongen” when Andreas T Olsson set up his monologue Sufflören, a play still available at the Royal Dramatic Theatre’s repertoire.
