1.1 million guest nights in November in Stockholm

During the month of November about 1.1 million guest nights was recorded at commercial accommodation in Stockholm County. There was an increase of 5% compared to last year.

The foreign guest nights decreased by 3%. Approximately 74% of the overnight stays came from domestic overnight stays that increased by 8% compared to November 2015.

The Nordic overnight stays decreased in total by 2% compared to November 2015. Norway had the highest number of overnight stays, followed by Finland with 7%, which increased in turn by 5%. For the other European countries, excluding the Nordic countries, the number of overnight stays by 1%.

– I am glad that we are over 1 million guest nights per month, says Karin Wanngård (S), Mayor of Stockholm. It is important for the tourism industry and the entire economy of Stockholm.

– We have over one million guest nights, it is very gratifying, says Thomas Andersson, CEO of Visit Stockholm.

In Stockholm County, the average price of a hotel night increased since the same month in 2015, although the hotels’ revenues have increased compared to last year.
